To begin, cut a small slit on the top of the blue number calendar boxes for each day of the month. Cut out the mini cards and choose 31 or however many you may need for the month.
Slide one card into each slit of the calendar. Hang it where your whole family (or group) will be able to see it at the start of the day.
Each day of the month, pick out the card of the day and read the word.
Everyone must try to use that word throughout their day as many times as they can remember to, either in what they say, in a song or rhyme, or in what or how they do something. See how a simple new vocabulary word can bring a little extra cheer to your day and to those around. At family dinner time, discuss how your day went:
How did you use the word?
By yourself or with others?
How many times did you use it?
How did it make you feel?
How did it make others feel?
